My Top 10 Sci-Fi Movies: #8 – The Fifth Element

#8 – The Fifth Element (1997)

Yeah I know, this movie has it flaws. But dammit, its just so entertaining!

I mean, Bruce Willis is awesome. And put him in an over-the-top sci-fi action thriller and you got a recipe for a great movie.

While corny in spots and maybe even a bit overlong, the movie’s greatest strength is its sense of humour. Chris Tucker is incredible as the radio DJ caught in the mix of an epic battle between good and evil. Willis gives a perfect deadpan and Gary Oldman is great in anything he does.

So check this one out if you haven’t already. As long as you’re not expecting an artsy, Oscar-worthy movie, you will be thoroughly impressed with this hugely entertaining piece of sci-fi gold.

“What’s wrong with you? What you screamin’ for? Every 5 minutes there’s somethin’, a bomb or somethin’. I’m leavin’. bzzzz.”

you’re a dumbass for simply splitting your top 10 in 10 different lost pages.

I was going to delete this comment for calling me a “dumbass”, but then I realized that you are right.

I had originally set each entry of the top 10 to be revealed one per day while I was on vacation, so as not to give away the next entries. That doesn’t make much sense now does it?

So I’ve included the whole top 10 list on all the pages with their respective links. This should make it easier to navigate the list.

Despite calling me names, you did help me improve the blog. So thanks, but don’t do it again haha.

The best character by far was the DJ. Chris Tucker does ‘annoying’ like no other. Nice list. ‘Blade Runner’ would be my number one though.
